Background practice 2

One of things I’ve realized about my art is that I usually divide the characters and the backgrounds. The end result is that one takes away from the other or they clash very heavily. This was part of an exercise to remedy that. I was also hoping to minimize the amount of unnecessary detail that I usually cram into pictures like this for the sake of not being too minimalist, but I think that's a mistake for me. My best work lies in simplicity. Agree? Yes? No? Maybe? Anyway There are two more and a compilation one coming. Hopefully this works better than my previous efforts.
